Both Boksburg teams sitting pretty in Premier League

Last season’s log winners Kempton Park have had a slow start and sit in fifth position, just a single point out of the top four.

The first round of the Eastern Premier League cricket has come to an end and if you’re a fan of Boksburg club cricket, then you have every reason to be impressed.

Starting off with CBC Old Boys, who sit highest on the log between the two teams from Boksburg with 28 points from eight outings.

This is thanks to some important wins like their ultimate fixture of 2018 where they defeated Bedfordview with a bonus-point.

Old Boys trail high-flying Benoni Northerns by six points.

Meanwhile, Northerns, like third-placed Alberton, are the only two teams to have suffered just a single loss.

CBC Old Boys neighbours CMH Boksburg have also shown a vast improvement this season, rising from Premier League B to a top four standing in the big leagues.

The Prince George Park outfit, spurred by a capable youthful group who are determined to make a mark in the Premier group, is the side responsible for handing table-topping Northerns their first and only loss in both sides’ last game of the year at Prince George Park.

CMH lie fourth on the log with 21 points with a game in hand compared to the top two sides.
