The Boksburg Football Club (BFC) took the first step towards the imminent start of the much-anticipated new soccer season by hosting trials for all age groups and genders at the Boksburg City Stadium on February 27.
The meeting accommodated players from u-6 up to the seniors.
The guest list from the chilly Saturday morning included club chairperson Richard Masemola.
According to BFC head coach Ernest Seforo, the Easterns Local Football Association (ELFA) is eyeing a March 20 restart of the new season.
Seforo also explained that unlike the normal trials process which sees players being cut when coaches make their choices of the players they want, the club will not let any of the players who featured on Saturday go because numbers are needed to fill all the club’s different age group squads.
Meanwhile, the league’s Veteran League has already resumed competitive action.
