Kinghorn celebrates victory with heaviest fish

Nothing fishy about Kinghorns achievement.

Boksburg North resident Tersius Kinghorn recently won a fishing competition at Fortuna holiday resort in Balfour, Mpumalanga.
This is after he caught a carp weighing 2.95kg – which was 30g heavier than the runner-up’s catch.

Speaking about the competition, Tersius (34) said: “We were at the resort for my birthday; we entered the competition just for fun but as the weekend progressed, we started fishing more competitively.

“I am not over the moon about the size of the fish but I am glad that it was good enough on the day.

“I started fishing when I was about 17 and I’ve enjoyed it ever since. I think I am only getting the hang of it now.”

Kinghorn was scheduled to participate in another competition in Villiers this past weekend, April 10 and 11.
