Boksburg Cardinals president Gavin Bennett has paid homage to every member of the club who has assisted in ensuring the club remains in good condition.
The Cardinals are enjoying success on and off the pitch with recent positive results followed up by Bennett’s message, which was accompanied by images of the home of the local baseball club based at the Boksburg City Stadium.
The social media caption, which was part of the president’s post, read: “Our club thanks everyone who has assisted in getting the club up and running. Cardinals family always stick together.”
On the pitch, the Cardinals Major A-side has collected two wins after three matches, with their latest home win being on April 25 in a nail-biter against Red Sox.
Red Sox fell on the final play of the game after it was tied at 16. With the home side batting in the bottom of the seventh, Wesley Hall singled on a 2-2 count and scored one run. It was a win that left the Cardinals in third position on the Major A log after three rounds of play.

Benoni, who’ve played one more game, lead the pack with four wins in as many games with eight points, followed by Giants who are tied with the Cardinals with four points but have a superior run difference.
Cardinals captain Kieran Cree said: “The baseball premises is looking well and being looked after by the members of the club, which is great for the league as most have said the club is looking great with small upgrades to mounds and field presentations. Majors and the Cardinals have had a very good start to the season so far and look to be one of the better years for us with the return of some old boys, which has made our team way better.
