Boksburg’s former EFC middleweight fighter JP Kruger is in the process of coming out of retirement and making a comeback to the hexagon.
Kruger’s last appearance in an EFC hexagon was five years ago when he lost to England international Yannick Bahati for the then vacant EFC middleweight title.
He then shifted his focus to activities including coaching and recently, sharpening his Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
But the 34-year-old has now decided to put back the gloves and shorts and is ready to take the opportunity for a return when it presents itself.
“I want to start fighting again at light heavyweight, which is a higher division than the one I used to fight in,” he said.
“I’m feeling stronger and ready. I’m currently in talks with Brave Combat Federation, but nothing has been confirmed yet. I would welcome any good opportunity at this stage for my comeback.
“The real reason I want to return is that I have a bit of fire in my belly and I want to test myself with the very best.”
During his time away from the hexagon, Kruger also starred in the Abu Dhabi World Professional Championships where he finished in eighth position.
When he decided to retire, his EFC record was a stable 7-2.
