Boksburg FC humbles Sporting CP

Sporting CP Academy u-17 team suffered a humbling defeat against Boksburg Football Club during the Eastern Local Football Association (ELFA) match on September 18 at Prince George Park.

Despite the game being tough, Boksburg FC pulled through with a score of 4-2 against Sporting CP.

Boksburg FC, which is on the top of the log, still has two games left in the league under ELFA.

Speaking to the coaches after the match, Fortune Ncube of Sporting CP Academy shared they started strong but throughout the game they got punished due to mistakes on the defenders’ side.

“During the second half, we had to change the shape of the game and it was better, though we should have used those chances to our advantage. We will just work on our mistakes but overall the players did well,” said Ncube.

Expressing jubilation after the match, Simphiwe Mgetyengana said the match was tough but at least the players showed mental fortitude which enabled them to win. He highlighted that on September 19 they won away against the Rovers.
