School launches four sports fields

The fields consist of three netball grounds and a single soccer pitch.

The Sion Academy Clearwater Campus officially unveiled their sports fields in an event attended by officials from the Gauteng Department of Education (GDE) on April 21.

The fields consist of three netball grounds and a single soccer pitch.

During the ceremony, Mosibudi Makhubela and Solomzi Butshingi from the GDE led the ribbon cutting and afterwards they were entertained to seven netball matches featuring the school’s various age-group divisions against Royal Schools Alberton.

The Sion Academy Clearwater Campus’ U7 netball team. They drew 1-1 with Royal Schools Alberton.

Sion won six matches and drew one.

“There was a great deal of support from the school learners and staff members. The school looks forward to many more sporting events that will be held on the fields on this campus,” said principal Innocent Mapondo.
