Local swimmers excel at EGA

The swimmers' hard work paid off for the swimmers at the latest EGA.

Swimmers from the Boksburg Aquatic Saints Swimming and Lifesaving Club raked in the medals at the Eastern Gauteng Aquatic (EGA) Winter Championship, which took place at St Benedict’s College on August 5 and 6.

The results are as follows:
Jaiden Staines: two gold in the 200m breaststroke and 50m butterfly and three silver in the 50m breaststroke, 100m butterfly and 100m.

Xander Swanepoel: two gold in the 200m backstroke, 50m butterfly, two silvers in the 100m butterfly and 100m individual medley and one bronze in the 50m freestyle.

Nicole Beling: one gold in the 100m butterfly, one silver in the 50m freestyle and four bronze in the 100m and 200m individual medley, 200m and 100m freestyle.

Hayley Beling: one gold in the 200m backstroke and two bronze in the 100m butterfly and 100m backstroke.

Gabriella Douglas: one silver in the 50m butterfly and two bronze in the 50m freestyle and 50m backstroke.

Kelly Stork: two bronze in the 200m backstroke and 100m individual medley.

Jessica Sardinah: two bronze in the 100m and 200m breaststroke.
