Judo champ off to champs
His qualification comes after he won the U17 60kg Cadet group 4 at the South African Trials at the University of Pretoria’s Groenkloof campus recently.
Hoërskool Oosterling’s Kayden Barnard qualified for the Commonwealth Championships that will take place in Malta from April 3 to 8.

Kayden, from the Kaizen Judo Kwai Club, also received his Protea colours for the second time.
His mother, Elmarie, said she is very proud Kayden’s hard work is paying off.
