PMFC open day gives youngsters the opportunity to learn
Young football enthusiasts explored soccer activities, from gross motor skills development to football drills at the open day.
It was a fun-filled day at Christian Brothers’ College (CBC) as the Pitso Mosimane Football Club (PMFC) hosted its U7 and U9 open day on March 1.
The teams were introduced to a variety of exciting activities, which form part of the regular football development programme at PMFC Boksburg.
These activities included general gross motor skills development as well as football-specific drills, including small-sided games.

According to Damian Murphy, the general manager at the local club, PMFC has been promoting soccer in Boksburg, having signed 70 youngsters since its establishment last year.
“Our vision is to create the players of tomorrow by developing young talent, training youth-development coaches, and creating opportunities. If there are any parents with boys or girls who want to allow them to be part of a football club, we are here. We cater for players from six years old up until 15 and our club is open and available to the community of Boksburg at large,” he explained.
The club is affiliated with the Easterns Local Football Association and will participate in the local league that will commence in April.

One of the attendees, Lwandle Makgoba (9) from Parkdene, said he enjoyed the day.
“It was nice and fun. I learned a lot of things, such as passing,” he said.
Makgoba added that he now dreams of becoming a professional football player like Lionel Messi and Cristiano Renaldo.
At the Boksburg branch, U7 and U9 players train on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 16:00 to 17:00, while U11, U13, and U15 players train from 16:00 to 17:30 at CBC.
PMFC also held open days at other locations, including Parkview, Roodepoort, and Mamelodi.
