Reiger Park killings: Hawks respond to video raising questions over arrests
Police also revealed that one of the accused has been linked to at least four other cases allegedly committed before the latest killings.
Footage purporting to show CCTV footage from the night of the Reiger Park killings has emerged.
It has raised questions about the arrest of 23-year-old Regan Collis, who face a barrage of serious charges, including four counts of murder.
The footage, which has been widely circulated on social media, has prompted speculation that the accused currently behind bars may not be responsible for the August 7 killings.
The matter stems from the August 7 shooting in Reiger Park, in which two women, Jaydin Magerman (27), and Roleen Lessing (31) and two SAPS Anti-Gang Unit members, Constables Thapelo Tlomatsane (29) and Sphiwe Sibeko (28) were killed.
The Boksburg Advertiser has not independently verified the footage or the claims accompanying it.

The Hawks, however, have indicated that investigators remain confident in the case against the accused and that more details will be presented in court.
Speaking to journalists outside the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court following the brief appearance of Collis’ co-accused, 24-year-old Jamal Meyer, Hawks spokesperson Colonel Katlego Mogale said investigators had obtained the relevant footage.

“Those videos can do the rounds. The investigators have taken the footage that they are supposed to take and more details on that would be deliberated in court.”
Mogale said investigators had enough evidence to bring the matter before court, while further forensic results are still awaited.
“We do have enough evidence that has brought us to this point today,” she said.
She added that investigators are awaiting ballistic test results and fingerprints from Pretoria, which will be cross-referenced with existing records as part of efforts to strengthen the case.
Linked to previous cases
Mogale also revealed that one of the accused has been linked to at least four other cases allegedly committed before the latest Reiger Park killings.
She said the investigation remains ongoing and that investigators cannot rule out further arrests.
The two accused, Collis and Meyer, are being charged based on common purpose and face four counts of murder, one count of attempted murder, two counts of robbery with aggravating circumstances and two counts of unlawful possession of firearms.
When asked about the specific roles allegedly played by each accused during the shooting, Mogale said those details would be dealt with in court.
“More details, including the role and whatever participation each accused had in terms of the commission of the crime, will be deliberated in court,” she said.
Both accused are expected to return to the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court on August 25 for their formal bail applications.
The state has indicated that it will oppose bail.
