Local dancer showcases talent in Europe

She won the musical character category and was third in acrobatics.

The Dance Company SA dancer Kenzi-Lee Horlick recently stunned the crowd when she showcased her talent at the 15th Euro Dance Festival Novi Sad.

The Ashton International College learner was among 5 000 dancers from 20 countries who participated in this festival, which celebrated the quality and diversity of dance styles and was held at the SPNS Novi Sad Arena in Serbia.

Kenzi-Lee won the musical character event in the artistic category, placing third in acrobatics, eighth in contemporary dance and fourth in jazz.

In the street dance events, she placed fifth in hip-hop.

Kenzi-Lee qualified for the competition after success at the Talent Africa Euro Dance nationals and travelled to Serbia with the SA performing arts team.

Her mother, Tanya, thanked the dancer’s teacher, Monique Badenhorst, and all the other mentors who contributed to the youngster’s success.
