‘Feralspunky’ vows comeback after tough loss at EFC 127

The local fighter is now focused on bouncing back after EFC loss.

Parkrand’s Godfrey ‘Feralspunky’ Mkhwanazi faced a tough test at the recent EFF 127 event held at the WSB EFC Arena, where he went up against Roevan de Beer in a catchweight bout.

The fight ended in the first round, with De Beer claiming victory via triangle choke at 03:21. Mkhwanazi, who trains at Godfather MMA, entered the cage with confidence but acknowledged a small mistake cost him the fight.

“I walked into the cage ready, but I made a small mistake. I did not set up my kicks with my hands and I paid the price. It happened very quickly. I tried to get up, but it was too late. He had me,” Mkhwanazi said after the fight.

Despite the early loss, Mkhwanazi remained positive and took the opportunity to thank those who have supported him.

Known by his nickname ‘Feralspunky’, Mkhwanazi has already shifted focus to his next bout. He made it clear that the defeat has only added fuel to his motivation.

“I’m going to put in the hard work, fine-tune the game plan, and bring the results,” said Mkhwanazi, whose pro MMA record is 3-4-0.

While the result at EFF 127 didn’t go his way, Mkhwanazi’s determination to return stronger reflects the mindset of a focused and committed athlete. His supporters can expect to see him back in the cage in the near future.

His message to his fans is: “This is not the last one. I will be back soon.”
