Screama Cup honours late Boksburg football administrator
The tournament honoured the late Boksburg and Central Football Association administrator Clive 'Screama' Chipitura.
Unknown FC etched their names into local football history by winning the inaugural Screama Cup, held in honour of late Boksburg and Central Football Association (BCFA) administrator and coach Clive ‘Screama’ Chipitura.
The tournament, hosted at WJ Clements Stadium in Reiger Park from September 24–27, brought local teams together to celebrate the life and contribution of a man who played an important role in Boksburg football for decades.
Unknown FC beat Reiger Park Juventus in the final on September 27 to claim the open section title and the R20 000 first prize, as well as medals and a trophy. Reiger Park Juventus received R5 000 for finishing runners-up, together with medals and a trophy.

Both finalists also contested the decider in new playing kits.
Kasi Flavour claimed the Over-35 title after defeating Mahloeme Masters in the final. They received R7 000 in prize money, while the runners-up took home R3 000, medals and a trophy.

Chipitura, who passed away in December following a short illness, had been involved with the BCFA since the 1990s and coached several local clubs, including Boksburg Guild FC, Reiger Park Ajax and Samba Boys, the final club he coached, where he focused largely on developing juniors.
His nickname, ‘Screama’, was inspired by the late Stanley ‘Screamer’ Tshabalala, the former Bafana Bafana and Mamelodi Sundowns coach renowned for his animated touchline style and the ‘shoeshine and piano’ brand of football associated with Sundowns’ success in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

“Both of them had the coaching style of screaming instructions to their players during matches,” said Sydney Chipitura.
He said the tournament was introduced not only to remember his late relative but also to provide young footballers with an opportunity to showcase their talent.
“This tournament was added to the social calendar of Reiger Park Sports to honour our legend and also to give our youngsters a chance to showcase their skills,” he said.
Eight teams competed in the open section, while five teams entered the Over-35 competition.
Sydney said the inaugural tournament was a success and praised everyone who contributed to its running.
“Everything went smoothly. The referees were outstanding. The tournament was hosted by Samba Boys FC in conjunction with the BCFA.
“We would like to thank the BCFA leadership, family and friends, and the Chipitura and Bloem families for their support during the tournament. We will be back with the second instalment next year,” he concluded.
