Bokamoso FC (Boksburg FC girls’ team) had to settle for second position in the Ladies Cup.
Boksburg FC was beaten 2-1 by Rovers FC in the final match at the Olympia Italian Club Stadium in Bedfordview, on March 24.
Boksburg beat Bedfordview FC 2-1 in the first round of the cup games at the Bedfordview soccer fields on March 10 and thereafter beat Old Bens 6-5 on home soil in the semi-finals, on March 17.
The coach of Boksburg FC ladies team, Ernest Seforo, said he is proud of his young team.
“My players range from 12 to 21 years of age and I’m super proud of their performance in the cup games, although there’s still room for improvement.
“We had a lot of opportunities in the final cup match, especially in the first half, but we couldn’t capitalise.”
He mentioned that it was one of those games where the opponents punished them because of missed opportunities.
“One of the lessons we are taking home today is that we must ensure we take opportunities. We are now going back to the drawing board and we are going to train a lot to prepare for the upcoming season that commences in October,” explained Seforo.
He added that they are still new in the Blue League and they are more determined to do better.
“We finished in the seventh position in the league against eight teams and that’s not a bad start.”
The team is looking for more girls between the ages of 12 and 21 to join it. If you want to join, contact Ernest Seforo on 079 721 6160.
