Music lovers throng Carnival City’s Festival Lawns for McKnight’s concert

A massive crowd of screaming and waving music-lovers packed the Carnival City Festival Lawns on Saturday evening, September 19, to see the multiple award-winning Brian McKnight performing live.

The American McKnight was in the country on his “The Sequel Tour to South Africa”.

Prior to his performance at Carnival City, he performed with his band at Moses Mabhida Stadium (Durban) on September 16, and then proceeded to Cape Town..

Despite the chilly Saturday evening, devoted fans poured into Carnival City in droves, and clearly enjoyed the legendary R&B singer-songwriter-cum-producer’s 90 minute-long powerful rendition of all of his best hits.

His performance kept the crowd on their feet, dancing, cheering and singing along to all his favourite songs.

Born in Buffalo, New York, McKnight has, to date, released 15 albums, with several going two and three times platinum.

He has sold over 30 million albums worldwide and boasts a massive fan base in South Africa.

McKnight signed his first recording deal while he was still a teenager, and has worked with many universally acclaimed music legends during his career.

He is also expected to release his soulful 16th album later this year. -@FanieFLK
