Tshepo ‘Guitar King’ Lapane, who resides in Villa Liza, aims to make a name for himself in the music industry.
The 23-year-old musician said he started making music when he was about 10 years old.
“I strongly believe I was born with a talent as some of my family members are musicians. I became more inspired by my musician friend Kwanele ‘Gilbert’ Khumalo playing the guitar.
“He is a good guitarist with a perfect mind for music. We have done several songs together. We both want to change the music game and make afro-pop music popular and enjoyable. I believe we both have the characteristics to be the best musicians in the country,” said Guitar King.
He stated that once he becomes famous he will ensure that he opens opportunities for aspiring artists.
“I’m working on new songs. I have collaborated with good musicians Monochrome and Gilbert. People will enjoy those songs.
“Our priority is to come up with new types of afro-pop sounds that people haven’t heard of. What I like about both of the artists I’m collaborating with is that they understand music and they have got good working ethics.
“I hope we will keep working together and change our lives as musicians in the future. We all want to provide for our families,” said Guitar King.
Guitar King added that there’s a list of famous musicians he wishes to collaborate with and some of those artists are King Monada, Vusi Nova and Makhadzi.
“I also wouldn’t mind working with Open Mic record label or being signed under it.”
