Valentines Day

Pop the question creatively

According to American Express Spending and Saving Tracker, approximately six million people worldwide propose on Valentine’s Day.

Scrabble proposal

If you and your sweetheart are avid Scrabble players, or even if you aren’t, a Scrabble marriage proposal is the perfect way to surprise your lover when asking for her hand in marriage.

It is sweet, simple and offers a lot of variety to suit unique personalities and styles. There are many variations available when one uses Scrabble tiles or the game when proposing marriage

A few popular ideas are spelling out “will you marry me” at the start of the game or by using the ring to signify the letter “O” in the middle of the game.

Ask her with a cuppa

Sometimes less is more and the biggest surprises come in the most mundane moments. If your other half loves nothing better than to curl up on the couch with you, in their PJ’s with a cuppa, this could be a perfect moment for you to declare your love.

Buy a plain white mug and, using pottery paint, paint “will you marry me” at the bottom. This will surprise her once she finishes her beverage.

Roses and petals

An oldie but a goodie is spelling out “marry me” using rose petals on the floor. Add an extra touch by turning off all the lights and use tea light candles to illuminate the room.

Planning on presenting her with a bouquet of roses? Ask her to marry you by placing a note in the bouquet and place the ring on top of one of the roses.

Is she a Disney fan? Do have the time to go all out? Why not pull a Beauty and the Beast move? Buy a bell jar and have your proposal etched on the glass. Place the ring inside the jar with a single rose and petals.
