Soup kitchen grows to feed learners

The businesses and volunteers continue to expand the soup kitchen’s reach.

J&G Auto Electrical and Mechanical’s soup kitchen keeps growing and improving, enough to help four schools with their feeding schemes.

Every second Friday, the soup kitchen distributes hot meals across the road from the business but has now garnered enough support to expand its service to four local schools.

Once a week, the schools receive the same hearty meals as the soup kitchen patrons and the team sets up shop at 06:00 to prepare and package the food for the schools.

Ordette Lottering, one of the soup kitchen managers, is thankful for all the businesses and volunteers involved in feeding the town’s most vulnerable.
