Thieves target homes

Three cases of housebreaking were reported to the Brakpan SAPS over the weekend.

Thieves broke into a house in Derby Avenue, on Friday evening, and took household items such as a sound system, flat screen television set and bedding.

A resident from Augrabies Street, in Leachville, awakened on Friday morning at about 4.30am, when his house alarm went off.
Upon inspection he noticed that the window in the living room had been removed from the frame. Nothing was reported stolen.
On Sunday evening, a house in Freel Street, Minnebron, was the target of thieves.

When the owner arrived home, at about 8.30pm, he noticed that a window was open and the cover of a heater was lying on the grass.
He called the police and when they arrived he went inside the house and discovered that numerous items were missing.
