The maintenance is essential to allow for technicians to replace the current steel structures of miniature substations with new protective steel enclosures.

Consumers need to note that all conventional meters in these mini-substations will also be replaced with pre-payment meters.

Residents in the Minnebron area can expect a power outage on Tuesday, November 12, Wednesday, November 13 and Thursday, November 14, between 8am and 5pm.

The affected streets on November 12 are Des Fountain Street, Gerald Kalk Street, Brink Street, Jim Vining Street, Koos Voster Street and Gert Bezuidenhout Street.

The affected streets on November 13 are Koos Voster Street, Freel Street, Gert Bezuidenhout Street and Pieter du Plessis Street.

The affected streets on November 14 are Koos Voster Street, Verster Street, Eric Holdtman Avenue, Elffers Street, Lagrange Street, Vergotinni Street and Roeties van den Berg Street.

Residents in the Minnebron area can also expect a power outage on Tuesday, November 19, between 8am and 5pm.

The affected streets will be Lagrange Street, Cornwell Street, George Troskie Street and Middle Street.

Residents in Sunair Park will experience power outages on Tuesday, November 19, Thursday, November 21 and Thursday, November 28, between 8am and 5pm.

Streets to be affected on November 19 are Hendrik Street, Ruth Street, Colliery Road and Lower Road.

Streets to be affected on November 21 are Sunair Street, Johan Street, Roywen Street, Ruth Street, Graaf Street, Kontiki Street and Denne Road.

Streets to be affected on November 28 are Hendrik Street, Lower Road, Crest Street, Fanie Street, Petrus Street, Andries Street, Graaf Street and Colliery Road.

Technicians will also be carrying out maintenance on miniature substations in the Witpoortjie, Kenleaf and Vulcania areas on Tuesday, November 26 and Wednesday, November 27.

Streets to be affected in Witpoortjie are Farquharson Road, Libertas Road, Delheim Street, Molen Road, Denne Road, Pieta Street, Hennie Street, Niki Street, Springs Road and Middle Street.

Streets to be affected in Kenleaf are Morris Place, Glamorgan Road and Springs Road.

Lemmer Road in Vulcania will be affected.

Work to maintain these substations will continue in December and residents of Minnebron and Withok will be without power on Tuesday, December 3, between 8am and 5pm.

Streets to be affected in Minnebron are Bertie Meyer Street, Willem van Zyl Street and Croft Street.

Tenth Road in Withok will be affected.

The metro apologised for the inconvenience and assured affected consumers that work will continue until power is restored.
