
Friday
A bottle store in Vootrekker Road was robbed of liquor, cash and cellphones.
Three men entered the store at about 8pm and held the owner and staff at gunpoint.
The robbers locked the group in a storeroom before fleeing.
Saturday
Three burglaries were reported.
These took place at addresses along Pomegranate Avenue in Leachville, Bertram Avenue in Brakpan North and Wenden Avenue.
The home in Bertram Avenue was burgled of a fridge, television set, DVD player, kettle, cellphones and two motorcycles — a red and maroon Yamaha motorbike and a white Eagle Wing scooter.
Jewellery and cash were stolen from the other two properties.
Sunday
Two male staff members at a hotel in Prince George Avenue were held up and bound with cable ties by two armed men.
The robbers confronted the pair at about 10am and pointed guns at them.
One of the men was taken into an office and forced to open the safe.
Both men were then tied up with cable ties.
The robbers took cash from the safe, as well as the one man’s wallet and cellphone, and fled.
A DVD player and laptop were stolen from a home in Kitzinger Avenue.
A motorbike clubhouse in Queen Avenue was broken into.
Burglars stole a CCTV recorder, laptop, DVD player, cash and liquor.
A man armed with a toy gun was arrested by Brakpan police after he tried to rob two men along High Street, at about 2am.
The would-be robber, who was travelling in a white truck, confronted the pair as they were walking home and pointed the toy gun at them.
He demanded their money and cellphones.
The men refused and a fight ensued, during which the “robber” was injured and subdued.
Police were called and the man was arrested.
