A security guard was held at gunpoint by four robbers at a business along Lemmer Road, Vulcania.
The guard was sitting in a truck at about 2.30am when he saw four men, three of whom were armed with guns.
The robbers approached him and pointed their guns at him.
He was instructed to get out of the truck and was forced to accompany the robbers around the premises, while they removed two batteries from another truck.
The guard was then instructed to open the gate and the robbers fled.
Two bicycles and some tools were stolen from an address along Johan Street, Sunair Park.
The wheels of a car parked on the property were also stolen.
A white Toyota Venture was stolen from Goods Road, and a yellow Big Boy scooter was stolen from Craven Street, Brakpan North.
A workshop along Springs Road, Vulcania, was broken into.
Burglars stole a water cooler and a battery.
A woman was robbed of her handbag at knife point, while walking along Jones Street, at about 6.40pm.
The robber was apprehended by passers-by and arrested by police.
The woman’s handbag and all its contents were returned to her.
A home along Civin Road, Sonneveld, was broken into.
A television set, wristwatches and golf shoes were among the stolen goods.
Saturday
Three burglaries were reported.
Television sets, laptops and other goods were stolen from homes along Apex Road, in Larrendale, Ruth Road in Sunair Park and Dirk van der Hoff Street in Rand Collieries.
Three vehicles were stolen — a white Volkswagen Jetta from Tweedy Street in Brenthurst, a white Volkswagen Polo from Elliot Street and a green Jonway motorcycle from Kitzinger Avenue.
Sunday
Two businesses were burgled.
Liquor was stolen from a bar in Prince George Avenue and cables were stolen from a business in Atomic Road, Vulcania.
