SPCA rolls out ‘1000 Steri’ project

The Brakpan SPCA recently launched a unique fundraising project, which aims to sterilise 1 000 animals in Brakpan within the next year.

In order to make the ”1000 Steri’ project’ a success, however, the society will need to raise R300 000.

The society is, therefore, appealing to the Brakpan community, businesses, schools and other organisations for assistance.

“There are so many animals in need in Brakpan,” said kennel manager Ann Martin.

The funds will be used to sterilise those animals whose owners cannot afford to do so.

The SPCA will be distributing collection tins to schools and businesses to assist with the project.

“We will also have a very visible tin on our counter at the SPCA offices, so please, if you do pay us a visit, be sure to add to our collection,” said Martin.

In addition, individuals and businesses can help by pledging R100 per month for 12 months.
