Weekend crime round-up

According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend (November 21, 22 and 23):

Friday

Three break-ins were reported.

These took place at addresses along Craven Street and De Waal Street, Brakpan North, and George Troskie Street, Minnebron.

Televisions sets, sound equipment, appliances, groceries, liquor and jewellery were stolen.

Saturday

Five burglaries took place.

Television sets, jewellery, games consoles, DVD players, laptops, a microwave, three bar stools, clothing, shoes and other household items were stolen from homes along Dirk van der Hof Street, Rand Collieries, Essenhout Street, Dalpark, Afrikaaner Street and Brodigan Avenue, Dalview, and Rossouw Crescent, Minnebron.

Tyres and magwheels were stolen from a vehicle parked at an address along Protea Street, Dalpark.

Thieves stole a toolbox and a ladder from a bakkie parked along Stoffberg Avenue, and a radio from a car parked at an address at the corner of Prince George and Hoy Avenues.

Sunday

Two cellphones, two television sets and a handbag containing R300 were stolen from a home along Kingsway Avenue.

A blue Toyota Conquest was stolen from Mall@Carnival.

A company in Maryvlei was robbed of cash and a computer by two robbers.

The men, one of whom was armed with a gun, confronted two employees in an office at the Lemmer Road property at about 8pm.

The employees were forced to lie on the floor, while the robbers searched the office.
