Weekend crime round-up
According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend (January 23, 24 and 25):

Friday
Two burglaries were reported.
A television set, clothes and copper pipes were stolen from addresses along Derby Street, and Fifeshire Street, Brenthurst.
An attempted car theft was reported at the corner of Kingsway Avenue and High Street.
The driver of a Nissan bakkie was returning to his parked vehicle, at about 3.20pm, when he saw two men trying to break into it.
As the driver approached them, the would-be thieves jumped into a nearby vehicle — a grey bakkie (make and model unknown) and fled the scene.
While nothing was stolen, a door lock was damaged.
A Dalpark resident was robbed outside his home along Sheridan Street.
The man had arrived home at about 12.20pm and was sitting in his vehicle, waiting for a family member to open the gate, when he noticed a green vehicle stop behind him.
An armed man alighted the car and ran towards the resident.
The robber demanded money and took a bag, containing two cellphones, an ID book, passport, bank cards and other personal items.
The driver of a white Toyota Quantum was hijacked along Springs Road at about 11.55am.
The driver had stopped on the side of the road, when a man, armed with a gun, confronted him.
The hijacker pointed a gun at the driver and pushed him into the back of the vehicle, where he was instructed to lie down.
Two other men then climbed into the Quantum and they drove off.
The driver, who was also robbed of his cellphone, was dropped off at an unspecified location.
Saturday
A teenager was robbed of his belongings along Station Road, at 7.30am.
The youngster was standing at the Brakpan Train Station when a man grabbed his bag, containing a wallet, leather jacket, a cellphone and tablet.
Cash, a laptop and shoes were stolen from a home along Station Road.
An attempted burglary was reported at an address along Bailey Street, Withok Estates.
After getting up to investigate a loud noise at 3.30am, the homeowner looked through a window and saw three men on his property.
He shouted at them and the men ran away.
A spanner, a head cap and a glove were left behind by the men.
