DA seeks talent in Brakpan schools

Representatives of the Democratic Alliance recently visited Hoërskool Die Anker, Brakpan High School and Hoërskool Stoffberg.

They were looking for talented, aspirant small business starters and entrepreneurs, to incorporate in an internship programme at small businesses in the area.

“The DA regularly visits the schools to build a relationship with them and to establish if there are any issues that the DA can help to solve, said Mia Snyman, a DA provincial staff member for Gauteng.

Monday’s visit was conducted by the DA councillor for the area, Veronica Dyson, the Member of Parliament overseeing Brakpan, Gordon Mackay, as well as Snyman.

“This programme is part of a leadership project for the DA Young Leaders Programme and is called ‘Open-a-door’,” explained Snyman.

The schools have received application forms for Grade 11 and 12 learners to apply for this programme.

Once the applications close on May 20, shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview.

“The aim of this project is to empower creative, innovative self-starter individuals to enter the world of entrepreneurship and small business,” said Snyman.
