FERH staff members receive a surprise
Far East Rand Hospital (FERH) staff members were recently treated to a manicure and pedicure session at the Rene Beauty Institute, in Brakpan.
The pamper session idea started with the social worker’s HOD Jacobé Botha.
As part of her debriefing session with her colleagues, Botha decided to invite the women from the allied department to a pamper session.
The East Rand Stereo FM’s Be an Angel Network stepped in to help the team to destress and take time out as a form of debriefing.
Annette Smit, a director at the Be an Angel Network, was happy to help when she heard the women needed pampering.
She contacted Rene Viljoen, the owner of the Rene Beauty Institute, who gladly agreed to help.
The allied department was treated to a spa day at The Rene Institute of Beauty Therapy.
Students who are enrolled at the institution for their somatology course gave the staff their undivided attention in the form of massages, manicures, pedicures and hair treatments.
Rene and her staff made sure that the women were spoilt with refreshments and a great atmosphere, while they were having their manicures and pedicures.
“Health workers are always helping others; very often they neglect themselves and forget to pamper themselves. This is our way of saying thank you,” said Rene.
Social worker Margret Mashiyane was in heaven when she had her massage and manicure.
“I needed this so much, this is pure bliss. I wish we could do this more often,” said Margret.
