Local beauty takes title

Brakpan resident Ericia van den Berg (11) won the Miss Pre-Teen category.

The winners in each age category, together with their runners-up, will now take part in charity and community work, thus brightening up the lives of those less fortunate than themselves.

Some of the charity work involves visiting the sick and elderly in hospitals, Aids homes, children’s and old age homes, as well as attending fund-raising events.

Ericia, who has won several other pageants, said she is looking forward to the challenge and indicated that she wants to get involved with the Smile Foundation.

Ericia is a Grade Five learner at Laerskool Dalview.
