Dalpark family robbed at gunpoint
A 48-year-old father and his three daughters (aged 16, 20 and 25) were confronted by four armed robbers at 3pm on Friday, in front of their house in Wordsworth Street, Dalpark.

“I arrived back home from the mall and parked my car in front of the gate, because I was picking up my daughters to take them to the mall,” said the man, who wishes to remain anonymous.
“I went inside the house to see if they were ready and we all walked to the car.”
After the man opened the car doors and they wanted to get into the vehicle, a white Polo Sedan with six occupants stopped behind the vehicle and four armed men got out and approached them.
“I panicked and jumped over my gate and then jumped across to our neighbour’s yard. One of the robbers was screaming at me and asked what I was doing, but luckily he didn’t fire any shots.
“I then heard my daughters scream and the Polo sped off.”
The robbers stole a cellphone from the vehicle and a necklace and cellphones from the victims.
“Luckily none of us were hurt. I believe it was an attempted hijacking turned into an armed robbery,” said the man.
