“Information was received by the EMPD Tracing Unit members of a stolen vehicle parked at a house in Tsakane,” said spokesperson for the EMPD, chief supt Wilfred Kgasago.

“On Friday around 2am, the metro police officers pounced on the house and arrested a male suspect. A Kia Rio Sedan and an unlicenced 9mm pistol with live rounds were recovered,” added Kgasago.

The arrested suspect led the metro police to the second suspect who was found in possession of a hijacked Toyota Yaris.

The metro police are looking for a third suspect who is still at large.

The arrested two, aged 26 and 27, were charged at the Tsakane police station and appeared in the Brakpan Magistrate’s Court on Monday, November 16.
