According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the Easter weekend:
• Friday – Jewellery was stolen during a break-in at a home along Wordsworth Street, Dalpark.
• Saturday – A man drinking at a tavern in the Plastic Village informal settlement, along Main Reef Road, was assaulted.
A man known to the complainant assaulted him with a steel bar at about 8.30pm.
The culprit was later seen breaking into the man’s shack and stealing two amplifiers.
Cases of assault and burglary have been opened.
• Sunday – No information was received.
• Monday – Two burglaries were reported.
These took place at addresses along Modder Street, in Sallies Village, and Civin Road, in Sonneveld.
A television set, laptop, iPad and jewellery were stolen.
