Car hijacked in Mpumalanga recovered in Brakpan

The Mercedes Benz C180 was found abandoned at a complex.

A silver Mercedes Benz that was hijacked on May 21, in Leandra, Mpumulanga, was recovered in Brakpan.

The vehicle, which displayed replicated number plates, was recovered by the EMPD Equestrian Unit and the EMPD Swat Unit at about 11am yesterday (Tuesday).

The Mercedes Benz C180 was found abandoned in the parking area of a complex in Dalpark.

“Once the forensics team was done with formalities, the recovered vehicle was taken to the SAPS Van Ryn Deep Pound in Benoni,” said EMPD spokesperson Lieut-Col Wilfred Kgasago.
