
According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend:
• Friday – A white Mazda 323 was stolen from the Sherwood Shopping Centre.
Three burglaries were reported.
These took place at addresses along Kirkpatrick Street, in Brakpan North, Eric Holdtman Avenue, in Minnebron, and Graaf Road, in Sunair Park.
Television sets, jewellery, a games console, laptops, clothes and a guitar were among the items stolen.
• Saturday – A blue Toyota Tazz was stolen from Bosman Stadium.
A man was robbed of his cellphone and a large sum of cash at knifepoint.
The victim had parked his car along Voortrekker Road at 9.30am and was due to meet a man from whom he was going to purchase a car.
While waiting for the man, the victim was approached by a man armed with a knife.
He instructed the victim to hand over his money and cellphone.
The cash was intended for the vehicle purchase.

A purse and a GPS were stolen from a car parked at an address along Spies Street, in Brakpan North.
Television sets, a cellphone, a DVD player, speakers and other household items were stolen during burglaries at homes along Recreation Road, in Anzac, and Prince George Avenue, in Brenthurst.
A man was robbed of his bank card after withdrawing cash at an ATM in Anzac.
The incident took place at about 6.10pm.
The victim had just made a withdrawal and was walking away from the machine, when a man stopped him and told him he had not completed the transaction.
The victim returned to the ATM to check and the man grabbed his card.
The man fled in a green and white Mini Cooper.
The victim received an SMS shortly afterwards to notify him that R1 400 had been withdrawn from his bank account and a purchase of R465,80 had been made.

• Sunday – A home in Ruth Road, in Sunair Park, was burgled of two television sets and a cellphone.

A white Toyota Corolla was stolen from Escombe Avenue.
A television set and laptop were stolen from a home along Colliery Road, in Rand Collieries.
