Brakpan has experienced an alarming increase in break-ins over the last few weeks.
Brakpan police have urged residents to be on the lookout for a blue Ford Ranger with no registration plates, which has been spotted at the scene of several house break-ins in Brakpan.
The most recent incident, which took place on Friday, last week, saw the occupants of this vehicle opening fire on personnel from a local security company.
The shoot-out followed a burglary at an address along Van Schoor Street, in Brakpan North.
