Ekurhuleni to celebrate Arbor Day

Will lead the National Arbor Day celebrations.

Member of the Mayoral Committee (MMC) for Environment and Waste Management Services in Ekurhuleni, Clr Ndosi Shongwe will on Friday, September 30, lead the National Arbor Day celebrations to be held in Tembisa.

As a practical and symbolic gesture of a sustainable environmental, the City of Ekurhuleni will spend national Arbor Day with the community of Winnie Mandela Section planting indigenous trees to beautify the Winnie Mandela Community Park under the theme “Forest and Water”.

Activities of the day will include tree planting at the park, tree planting at schools, stream clean-up and painting of swings.

The celebrations start at 10am at 9733 Peter Nchabeleng Street, in Winnie Mandela Section.
