Change of venue for Hackathon Challenge

Hackathon challenges will be presented to the various teams.

The venue for the Ekurhuleni Hackathon challenge has been moved to the Alberton Council Chamber.

The chamber is situated at the corner of Alwyn Taljaard and New Redruth streets, in Alberton.

The Ekurhuleni Hackathon will be held from tomorrow (Friday, September 30), to Sunday, October 2, under the theme: A Digitally Connected City.

The event will see close to 250 developers, web designers and engineers using various technologies, hardware and APIs to turn their ideas into practical solutions for the municipality.

Hackathon challenges will be presented to the various teams to solve through big data, analytics, apps and open data.

The prototypes will be pitched on the last day of the hackathon, when the winning teams will be selected by the judges for a share of R150 000 in prize money.
