Weekend crime round-up
A man was assaulted by robbers and struck over the head with a hammer.

According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend:
• Friday – Mags and tyres were stolen from a garage at an address along Gardiner Avenue.
Two business burglaries were reported.
A generator was stolen from a company along Jones Avenue, and wristwatches were stolen from a jewellery shop in Mall@Carnival.

Two men robbed a woman at gunpoint at the corner of Park Street and Wenden Avenue.
The pair confronted the woman at about 5.30pm and threatened her with the weapon.
They demanded her belongings and fled with her cellphone and purse containing R230.
• Saturday – A maroon Mazda bakkie was stolen from the Brakpan Indoor Sports Centre.
A man was robbed of his cellphone and tablet in a shop along Prince George Avenue.
A thief grabbed the items from the man’s hands at about 10.40am.
Two batteries were stolen from a truck parked at an address along Molecule Road, in Vulcania.
A furniture shop along Voortrekker Road was robbed of numerous goods, including large items such as a double-door fridge and a mattress.
The burglars also took television sets, kettles, heaters, cellphones and laptops.
A business situated along Tweedy Road, in Brenthurst, was robbed of numerous goods, including a truck battery, forklift battery and wheelbarrows.
A man who lives on the company premises was assaulted by the robbers and struck over the head with a hammer.
It is not known how many robbers were involved and at what time the incident took place.
The injured man was discovered by a maintenance worker shortly before 7am.
A case of business robbery was opened.
• Sunday – A woman was robbed in her Mkhankwa Village home by three men.
The woman was startled by a knock at the door of her shack at about 4.15am and opened the door.
Two men entered her home, while a third kept watch outside.
One of the robbers demanded money and assaulted the woman, hitting her face.
They took her tablet from a table and fled the scene.
