
According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend:
• Friday – A green Toyota Corolla was stolen from the Sherwood Shopping Centre.
Three women were robbed of their stokvel savings along 12th Road, in Withok Estates.
It is believed the women were followed from the bank where they had withdrawn the cash at around midday.
They arrived at a local supermarket at about 1.30pm and were walking towards the entrance when three men armed with firearms confronted them.
The women were robbed of their cash and personal belongings, including cellphones, a pair of spectacles and a wristwatch.
The robbers fled in a white vehicle.
A home along Glamorgan Avenue, in Dalview, was burgled of two television sets, jewellery and a tablet.

Two business burglaries were reported.
A generator, electric tools and other goods were stolen from a business along Voortrekker Road, while a shop along Victoria Avenue was burgled of clothes and school bags.
Bags of titanium were stolen from a company along Atomic Road, in Vulcania.
• Saturday – A green Toyota Conquest was stolen from Lemmer Road, in Vulcania.
Truck tyres were stolen from vehicles parked at a transport company in Strauss Street, Van Eck Park.
Three homes were burgled.
Cash, a generator, a television set, laptop, jewellery and other household goods were among the items stolen from homes along Station Road, and Athlone Road and Ajax Road, in Dalview.
• Sunday – Three men robbed a man and a woman in their Jones Avenue home.
The robbers, two of whom were armed with guns, awakened the couple at about 3am and demanded cash.
Money, a television set and a cellphone were stolen.
A truck driver was hijacked of his company vehicle at the corner of Stoffberg Avenue and Goods Road, at about 10.30am.
The man was stationary at the traffic lights, when a man got into the truck and asked for a lift, telling the driver that people want to kill him.
The uninvited passenger even offered to pay for the ride, but the driver refused and a struggle ensued.
The driver was forced out of the truck and the man took off.
The truck was later recovered along Rondebult Road, in Boksburg, and a suspect was arrested.

A man was robbed of his cellphone and digital camera in a Brenthurst park.
The incident took place at about 1pm, at the corner of Heyns Street and Lester Road.
The man had arranged to meet someone at the park and was awaiting their arrival, when he noticed an old Audi A4 with two occupants arrive at the park.
Two males climbed out of the car and stood around, watching the man.
The pair then climbed back into the vehicle and drove towards him.
The man started to run and the men, one of whom was armed with a knife, chased after him on foot.
The man dropped his bag, containing his camera and cellphone, and the robbers picked it up.
They returned to their car and drove away.
