Make flavoured water at home

Delicious flavoured water whenever you want.

Water is so important for the body, but if you don’t like the taste of water you can add various ingredients to your water to make it better.

You don’t have to buy flavoured water, with these simple tips you can have delicious flavoured water whenever you want for a fraction of the price you would pay at a store.

Here’s how to make four combinations:

Minty cucumber lime
Half a cucumber, sliced.
Half a lime, sliced.
A quarter cup fresh mint leaves.

Strawberry-lemon with basil
Half a cup sliced strawberries.
Half a lemon, sliced.
A quarter cup fresh basil leaves.

Watermelon mint
One cup cubed watermelon.
A quarter cup fresh mint leaves.

Pineapple-orange with ginger
Half a cup cubed pineapple.
Half an orange, sliced.
One tablespoon freshly grated ginger.

You will need:
Glass jars or bottles.
Water.
A wooden spoon.
Sweetener (optional).

What to do:

Choose which recipe you’re making, or come up with your own combination, and gather all of the ingredients.

Place fruit, herbs, or spices in bottom of a jar or bottle, and mix with a wooden spoon.

Fill jar with water and give it a taste. You can also fill jar with seltzer water for a fizzy treat.

If you would like something a bit sweeter, add some sweetener and mix until dissolved.

Enjoy as-is or refrigerate overnight for maximum flavour.
