Chaplaincy of East Rand donation provides more than just meals
The Chaplaincy of East Rand shared a donation of potatoes between various Brakpan beneficiaries.
Following a generous donation of one ton of potatoes, the Chaplaincy of East Rand was blessed with the opportunity to distribute this much-needed food to those who need it most.
The potatoes were distributed to beneficiaries in Brakpan on August 28.
The chaplaincy extended a special thank you to chaplain Charmaine van den Heefer for her hard work, dedication and determination in obtaining the donation.
“Our sincere appreciation also goes to those who assisted with transporting and unloading this incredible donation at the Tweedy Park Old Age Home.
“Your kindness and willingness to serve did not go unnoticed,” said chaplain Pieter Booysen, who is also a captain at Brakpan SAPS.
Chaplain Terry Terblanche of Dunnottar was thanked for collecting potatoes for the soup kitchens in and around the Dunnottar area.
“Your continued dedication to reaching people in need is a beautiful example of Christian service,” said Booysen.
“Today, many elderly people will enjoy a delicious, hot potato dish because people chose to care.
“Sometimes, a blessing doesn’t come in the form of money or possessions. Sometimes, it comes as a bag of potatoes, a helping hand, a vehicle to transport it, and people willing to serve.”
Donations were also made to Mother’s Nest and the East Rand Children’s Haven.
