The bodies of two men who were stabbed to death were found in an open veld, near Ergo Road, this morning (Thursday).
According to Capt Pearl van Staad, spokesperson for the Brakpan police, security personnel from the Sallies Hostel made the the gruesome discovery and alerted the SAPS at around 7am.
The victims, believed to be in their 30s, were each stabbed multiple times.
“They were stabbed all over – the head, neck, hands, everywhere,” said van Staad, adding that a wheelbarrow, containing a 12.5kg bag of mielie meal, was found near the bodies.
Police suspect the victims, who are yet to be identified, were killed during the early morning hours.
The SAPS are still on the scene and cases of murder will be opened.
