Daily crime watch

The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (July 24 to 25):

Cases reported:

• Theft from motor vehicle: 1
• Theft: 1
• Shoplifting: 1
• Robbery with weapon other than a firearm: 1
• Common assault: 3
• Assault GBH: 1
• Theft out of motor vehicle: 1
• Theft of motor vehicle: 2
• Possession of unlicensed firearm: 1
• Traffic offences: 1

Arrests:

• Possession of drugs: 1
• Theft: 1
• Shoplifting: 1
• Possession of unlicensed firearm: 1

Armed robbery:

• A male passenger was robbed of his cellphone, cash, lunchbox and jacket in a taxi, on Saturday.

The incident took place along Main Reef Road, in Anzac, at about 6pm.

Shortly after boarding the taxi, the victim was assaulted by the two other passengers in the white Toyota Quantum.

One of the men stabbed the victim in the thigh.

After taking his belongings, the injured victim was dropped off.

Theft of motor vehicle:

• A blue Mazda B-Series bakkie was stolen from an address along Milner Avenue, yesterday (Monday).

The car was taken between 3pm and 3.30pm.

• A white Toyota Tazz was stolen between 7.15am and 11am from Tweedy Road, in Brenthurst, yesterday.

Theft out of/from a motor vehicle:

• A car radio was stolen from a car parked along Queen Avenue, on Sunday.

• A vehicle parked at at address in Queen Avenue was broken into on Friday.

A navigation device and a bag were stolen from the car.
