The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (August 14 to 15):

• Armed robbery: 1

Arrests:

Armed robbery:

• A high school learner was robbed of his cellphone by an armed robber along Railway Street, yesterday (Monday).

The victim was walking to Goods Road at about 2pm, when the lone robber attempted to grab his bag.

A struggle ensued and the victim was struck in the face with a gun.

The robber took the victim’s cellphone and fled on foot.

• Three men robbed a motorist along the R23 (Heidelberg Road), near Leachville, at about 6.30pm, last night.

The victim was stationary at the traffic lights at the New Kleinfontein Road intersection when one of the robbers broke his car’s passenger window.

He pulled over on the side of the road and got out of his car to confront the man, when two others climbed into his vehicle.

The victim was forced back inside his car and the robbers drove off with him.

They drove him to to a secluded area where he was threatened with a knife and the robbers demanded cellphones, cash and firearms.

The victim was robbed of his bank card and forced to disclose his pin number.

After withdrawing cash from an ATM, the robbers stripped the man of his clothes and stole a camping chair, tools and CDs from his car.

The victim drove home to get dressed and then reported the incident to Brakpan police.

Burglary:

• Power Street (business).

The company was broken into on Friday.

Stolen: Copper pipes.
