The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (August 23 to 24):

Business robbery:

• Four men robbed a Prince George Avenue bottle store yesterday (Wednesday).

The robbers entered the shop at around 9.30am and threatened staff at gunpoint.

Two staff members were bound with shoelaces and the security guard was forced to lie on the floor.

The robbers fled with cash, expensive liquor and cigarettes.

A witness reported seeing a suspicious-looking black BMW outside the store at the time of the robbery.

Armed robbery:

• A security guard was robbed by two men in Maryvlei.

The incident took place at business premises along 12th Road, yesterday.

The guard and a colleague were confronted by the pair, both of whom were armed with guns, at around 3.30am.

The robbers fled with the guard’s 9mm pistol and personal belongings, which included a cellphone and tablet.

Burglary:

• Springs Road, in Denneoord.

The break-in took place on Tuesday.

Stolen: Tools.

Theft out of/from motor vehicle:

• A GPS device was stolen from a vehicle parked along Voortrekker Road, yesterday.
