The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (September 4 to 5):

Cases reported:

• Theft out of motor vehicle: 1
• Theft: 2
• Theft from motor vehicle: 1
• Fraud: 1
• Theft of motor vehicle: 1
• Shoplifting: 2
• Inquest: 1
• Common assault: 1

Arrests:

• Shoplifting: 2

Theft of motor vehicle:

• A man was robbed of his vehicle by a hoax buyer.

The car, a white Ford Figo, was collected on behalf of the buyer from an address along Kitzinger Avenue, on Friday.

The buyer, however, failed to pay the funds into the victim’s account.

Theft out of/from motor vehicle:

• A digital camera was stolen from a vehicle parked along Krinkhout Street, in Dalpark
Extension Six, on Sunday.

• On Saturday, a battery was stolen from a truck parked in De Kock Street, Vulcania.
