Attempted house robbery:

• A Victoria Avenue woman was assaulted in her home by a group of armed men, yesterday (Tuesday).

The men entered the house at around 7.45am and attacked the victim in the presence of her small child.

Sometime during the commotion, the victim managed to press the panic button alerting her security provider to the incident.

The would-be robbers fled empty-handed when response officers arrived.

The men had planned to take a TV, games console, laptops and other household items.

Hijacking:

• The driver of a white BMW 320D was hijacked in the driveway of his Leachville home, last night.

He arrived at his Graskop Avenue home at around 10.30pm and pulled the car into the garage.

As he was closing the garage door, the victim was confronted by a man armed with a gun.

The gunman instructed the victim to get back in the car.

He was joined by two other hijackers and the trio drove off with the victim.

The hijackers robbed the victim of his cellphone and cash, and later dropped him off at an unspecified location.

Business robbery:

• Six robbers held up two security guards at a business along Fifth Road, Withok Estates, last night.

The robbers, two of whom were armed, overpowered the guards at around 10.30pm and bound their hands with shoelaces.

One of the guards was robbed of his cellphone, jersey and bicycle.

The robbers also fled with truck tyres.

Burglary:

• Kingsway Avenue (business).

The break-in took place yesterday.

Stolen: Cables.

Theft of motor vehicle:

• A red Toyota Conquest was stolen from Rook Street, in Brenthurst, yesterday.

Theft out of motor vehicle:

• A car parked at an address along Lotus Avenue, in Kenleaf, was broken into on Monday.

A jacket and cash were stolen.
