The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (March 19 to 20):

Cases reported:

• Theft: 1

Business robbery:

• A security guard on duty at business premises along Hewitt Avenue in Brakpan North was tied up and robbed this morning (Tuesday).

While patrolling the property at around midnight, the victim was overpowered by four men, two of whom were armed with guns and the other two with crowbars.

They searched the victim and took his cellphone.

The robbers then broke into a building on the property and stole a TV and liquor.

Before fleeing, they took the victim to the guardroom and tied him up with shoelaces.

The victim managed to untie himself and sought help.

Burglary:

• 21st Street, Withok Estates.

The home was burgled yesterday (Monday).

Stolen: Two TVs.

• Brakpan Road (business).

The break-in took place between Friday and yesterday.

Stolen: Sports equipment.

• 12th Street, Withok Estates (Mkhankwa Village).

The burglary occurred yesterday.

Stolen: Three pairs of shoes and a DVD player.

• Moepel Street, Dalpark.

The residence was broken into yesterday.

Stolen: A bar fridge and other valuables.

Theft out of motor vehicle:

• Two vehicles parked at an address along Lemmer Road in Vulcania were broken into on Wednesday, last week.

A WiFi router, tools and a car radio were stolen.

One of the vehicles was stripped of its tyres and rims.
