Daily crime watch

The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (April 4 to 5):

Cases reported:

• Theft from motor vehicle: 4
• Housebreaking and theft: 1
• Fraud: 1
• Business burglary: 2 (both Apex cases)
• Common robbery: 1
• Common assault: 1
• Drunk driving: 2

Arrests:

• Drunk driving: 2

Common robbery:

• A woman was robbed at an ATM at the Sherwood Shopping Centre in Brakpan North yesterday (Wednesday).

The incident took place just before 7am.

The victim withdrew a substantial sum of money and was about to put it in her purse when a man grabbed the cash from her hand and ran away.

Burglary:

• Pomegranate Avenue, Leachville.

The break-in took place yesterday.

Stolen: A TV.

Theft from motor vehicle:

• Two cars parked along Queen Avenue were broken into in separate incidents on Tuesday.

The vehicles’ radios were stolen.

• Car radios were stolen from two vehicles at the Tweedy Park Old Age Home on Tuesday.
