Man arrested for possession of crystal meth

Metro police found four packets of the drug Cat and two packets of crystal methamphetamine.

While conducting morning routine patrols along Station Road in Brakpan yesterday morning (Sunday), hawk-eyed EMPD Equestrian Unit members noticed a man sauntering aimlessly and constantly looking over his shoulder.

“The man was closely scrutinised and subsequently approached and upon searching him, the metro police found four packets of the drug Cat and two packets of crystal methamphetamine on his person,” said EMPD spokesperson Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago.

The packets of drugs found in the man’s possession.

“The 35-year-old resident of Brakpan was immediately arrested and locked up at the Brakpan Police Station for possession and suspected dealing in narcotics.”

He is expected to appear in the Brakpan Magistrate’s Court today.
